The Cow-byre Flat

We have a photograph of this building circa 1900 when it was a cow-byre, the original cobbled floor still being intact in the tractor shed below. This building has been rebuilt to its original height, the roof re-structured and thatched. It sleeps two in a first-floor single space that has a super-king sized bed in its own area with an all-glass gable-wall opening onto a balcony over the river, facing the summer sunrise. A sitting, games and reading area leads into a kitchen-dining area and a shower-bathroom. This hideaway also has a dedicated parking space and is accessed via its own gate and secluded small garden, with an easy flight of steps (not the one in the photograph above!) up to an oak entrance platform, that could have a wood-fired hot-tub installed in due course. The fun bit is that the entrance door is very wide, but also very low – take a deep bow upon entering, and tell us what would make this an even more perfect honeymoon retreat.
