A romantic watermill, Miller’s Cottage and the Cow-byre Flat, all overlooking the river and open North Oxfordshire countryside.
This is the original 15thC building, bridging the river Cherwell. It sleeps seven in four bedrooms, or nine if two young children are happy to share a futon on the gallery of the attic bedroom. The attic and principal double bedrooms are each en-suite with a king-sized bed in the principal bedroom, and there is a further family bathroom. The huge Mill Room or living room (about 31 x 23ft) has a log-stove, and the mill machinery to duck and dive amongst, and has a library attached. The dining room, adjoining the kitchen and breakfast room, has a hand-built refectory table that seats 12. A staircase from the Mill Room goes down to a pool table ’games room’, with exercise kit. The Mill has its own three-bay carport under the office opposite the front door, and a small waterside rose and herb garden with stone dining table.
N.B. This is also the owner’s home, so it is intensely personal and a little more ‘lived in’ than the Cottage or Flat, but we hope you will thereby feel even more relaxed and at home in it. If the dogs insist the sofas are theirs (not the beds mind!), spread a throw over them. The sofas that is, not the dogs.
